Our hens

Our hens roam freely through the farm’s orchards, where they spend their days foraging beneath the trees, and enjoying the richness of the landscape. This orchard setting gives the birds space to behave naturally while helping care for the land — fertilising the soil and supporting the health of the trees.

Their diet is based on high-quality feed, supplemented by the grasses, seeds, and insects they find while ranging outdoors. This varied diet produces eggs with rich yolks and full flavour, reflecting both the care given to the birds and the character of the farm.

Collected daily and produced in small numbers, our orchard-raised eggs are a simple expression of Spargo Farm’s approach: thoughtful farming, healthy animals, and good food from a living landscape.
